Spoiling your cats is okay but sometimes they don't want to be spoiled and won't even appreciate what you bought for them.

Unlike dogs, we all know that cats are unpredictable and finicky. Most first-time cat owners would be too excited to get everything that is cat-related things, I’m guilty as well. However, based on my experience, these top 5 useless things you bought for your cat will be used by your cat and I would suggest using the alternative that I will be mentioning below so that your money will not go to waste.
Cat (Pet) Bed
Dogs would be grateful to have his/her own bed and 99% of the time, they will use it, unlike cats. They would be curious at first but they won’t sleep on the comfortable pet bed instead they will sleep with you on your bed that they soon claim it as their own but if your cats are not allowed in your room, their sleeping beds would be the sofa, the cold tiled floor, or the rug/carpet, they also love to take a nap in an open corrugated box. Just consider buying a comfy rug or a corrugated box.

Electric Water Drinking Fountain
This is probably the most expensive thing on the list, and you will regret buying this if your cat found a pail of water in the washroom or if he/she learned how to open the faucet and drink from it. Cats are unique on their own so some will like stagnant water while others like running water. Try giving them water on a deep dish and 80% are successful that their cats drink from it.

Expensive Cat Toys
Cats’ happiness is not measured by the price, as long as they have something to play with until it’s destroyed. All toys will eventually turn out the same after, tattered, and torn by your proud cat. Aside from the corrugated box, cat’s love strings, balls, something that will trigger their hunting instinct. Hence, it’s so much cheaper to DIY some cat toys using corrugated boxes, tissue paper corks, and strings like yarns. Scratching Post
This is something essential for your cat so that they won’t scratch your sofa or curtains. However, you don’t need to buy a scratching post that will take up space because you have your dining or coffee table legs, which you may wrap with a sisal rope or yarn. That is a space-saving and thrifty idea.

Cat Dress/Shirts
Dogs look cute and lovely when you dress them up but cats will look at you in the evilest way when you dress them up. Cats who like to dress up are considered saints. The dress or shirt will definitely get torn into pieces after trying them once. Pet clothes can be pretty much expensive so if your cat hates collars, then maybe it’s not a good idea to dress him/her up.
